This represents a collaborative effort between the LSAM and Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, Santa Barbara, CA (M.S.Caterino, see http://www.sbnature.org/collections/invert/entom/histeridae.htm) dedicated to the study of inquilinous histerid beetles. The strategic goal of this study is to complete systematic revisions of two obligately inquilinous subfamilies of the Histeridae, Chlamydopsinae and Hetaeriinae, and to distribute the results in analytical systematic and taxonomic formats, including identification keys. Here, we present a test version of the on-line interactive key to the genera of Chlamydopsinae. We will be preparing an equivalent key to the ~96 hetaeriine genera in the future.
The latest version of Lucid does not require the user to download the player separately, which represents an advance over previous editions. The key is currently posted on the Santa Barbara Museum server. To report problems, or if your particular chlamydopsine doesn't fit the key, contact Michael Caterino.
